Vegas Shows – Rod Stewart Begins Two-Year Run at Caesars

Can a 66-year-old man kicking soccer balls into the crowd and singing songs about legs and sexiness fill up 52 shows in two years? We’re all about to find out. Legendary entertainer Rod Stewart began his two-year run at Caesars Wednesday with a show simply titled, “The Hits,” featuring nine of his very best songs, including “Hot Legs,” “You’re in My Heart,” and “Every Picture’s Worth a Story.” Stewart is backed by a nine-piece band and three vocalists, and has massive LED screens and a smaller one in front of him. He even kicks soccer balls into the crowd during “Hot Legs,” a tribute to the Celtic Football Club he enjoys supporting. Stewart, who has sold more than 100 million records worldwide, will be playing at the Colosseum during the next two years on and off, and we wish him the best. It recently celebrated three strong years on the Strip and is primed for more success. It was rated #1 Best Show in Vegas by the Las Vegas Review Journal. In reality television Jersey news, Jersey Shore star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzo took over LAX in the Luxor this weekend,  hosting a party there. Ronnie Ortiz-Magro hosted Rehab at the Hard Rock Hotel just a day later, and fellow cast members DJ Pauly D, Jenni “JWoww” Farley and Deena Nicole will be in Vegas this weekend. It seems there’s no slowing down the Jersey Shore cast, as we reported earlier.

The Jersey Shore takes over Las Vegas

The cast of Jersey Shore is everywhere these days–Italy, Miami, and more–but most recently, the group has been making several appearances in Las Vegas. Paul “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino recently went head-to-head in a contest of popularity and skill, with “The Situation” even heading to Jay Leno’s show for support, while “DJ Pauly D” got to enjoy some not-so-private time with Britney Spears at one of her concerts in Montreal on August 11, as well as being signed on to part of her Femme Fatale tour. He will also spin at the Palms, Rain, Moon, and Ditch Fridays for at least the next year. Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi recently signed on for Dancing with the Stars, and Jenni “JWOWW” Farley will join both Snooki and DJ Pauly D on a spinoff reality show in the coming months. JWOWW will be in Vegas through Labor Day weekend, and recently slammed Abercrombie and Fitch’s “request” for cast members to stop wearing their clothes, stating in part, “Who tells people not to shop at there store?! I WOULD NEVER discriminate anyone from buying my clothes because I love all my fans!”JWOWW has also been under criticism for her recent dramatic weight loss and plastic surgery.

The cast recently wrapped filming of the fourth season in Italy, but could the residency of guys like Pauly D full-time in Vegas mean we could see the Jersey Shore: Las Vegas? Shania Twain, international superstar and the world’s best-selling female country artist of all time, confirmed today her widely-speculated return to the stage and vocal spotlight with a two-year residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. The music icon will bring all of her biggest hits in her new show SHANIA: STILL THE ONE exclusively to The Colosseum beginning December 1, 2012.

Rod Stewart signed a two year agreement with Caesars Palace to join the rotation of headliners at the Colosseum.  Rod Stewart will perform close to 50 shows over the next two years.

Stewart also said do not expect anything less than “Balls-to-the-wall rock ‘n’ roll”.  He also stated “there’ll be no dancing ladies, no midgets, no magicians, no puffs of smoke or any of that”.

Stewart already played at the Colosseum in November 2010 as a trial engagement.  It looks like both sides were happy and now Rod Stewart has signed a two year agreement.

The show will feature four decades of Stewart’s hits, including Do Ya Think I’m Sexy and Maggie May, with a few blues songs intermixed.

Stewart is pleased to be at Caesars Palace.  The 4000 seat Colosseum will make the show more intimate.  During the show in November Rod Stewart went down into the crowd and invited fans onto the stage.  If you like Rod Stewart you will not be disappointed, he will give the show everything he has.
