The Frontier was been imploded 2:30am this morning (11/13/2007). To Some just another casino making way for progress, but every time this happens I find my self reminiscing of great times I have had at each of fallen casinos.
Somethings I will remember are: The 99cent Margaritas (they weren’t that great, but they were 99cents), the sign out front with the “Dirty Girls and Cold Beer”, Gilleys’s and the old style Vegas mystique. The sadness will last a little while but out with the old and in with the new
Before the Frontier Implosion there was a descent fireworks show with a countdown made of fireworks on the side of the building then a dramatic pause then the north side of the tower blew out and then fell with the south side following. Of course there was a lot of smoke, debris in the air, this is why they do this so early in the morning, to cut down on the onlookers and traffic jams. People of Vegas were asked not to attend, but this is true for every implosion.
The Frontier is now gone but not forgotten
